The Maruzen CA870 line "only" fires one shot per pump, but it's super accurate - more like a pump sniper rifle than a shotty. You can also half-cock it 2 or 3 times to load more than one bb, but velocity and accuracy go waaaaay down.
Your partly right— the m500 is sweet. But, the 8mm and 6mm fire 3bbs per shot on 1 pump. There is a mod you can do to the gun to allow it to feed 1-2 more bbs but can screw up the gun.

The Maruzen CA870 line have a super fragile cocking mech/pistons, so if you half cock to load more bbs, or just pump sloppy you'll break off the plastic loading nub very easily. Also can happen if you over load the mags, as it puts too much pressure on the loader, and it will snap.

The Ithica ABS shotties have a fire selector that lets you shoot one or two bbs, but the fps is lower than a TM M3 shooting 3 bbs.

I've tried almost every shotty out there, and the M500 by Marushin is the best build over all. Impossible to find though so you'd be better off getting a TM M3 shorty and putting a full stock on it. Or if you have lots of cash to spend, get the Tanaka m870 and a shell catcher bag. The Tanaka is full metal and has lots of shell options available, see RedWolf.
