I think just about ever airsoft player in the Northern part of the US owns some type of airsoft silencer (not everyone but a good amount of people) as far as getting caught just dont go do something like play in front of a police station, if your worried about having a fake silencer then where ever the hell you are you most likely shouldn't be, save it for the field don't go waving a mk-23 with a big ass extension at your neighbor.
