I've not heard of alot of confiscations, or you are hearing a few of the unlucky ones. You never know til you try, and alot of us continue to "try" successfully.
Like I said,I moved from Toronto to Manhattan, New York, where customs inspectors are probably the most intense in the world, simply due to terrorism, etc, and we have no problems getting airsoft guns or parts shipped to us, and they are illegal in this city. I think that says alot about customs in general. The volume of packages and parcels going thru customs in each city or country per hour is just insane. There is no time to check everything or or even a fraction of it. But yes, some do get pulled aside, and you lose your package and money. I'm sure it sucks if that happens, and a very valid reason not to try.
