Many people have beefs with V2s, Im ok with them really. Ive upgraded my TM v2 and downgraded it and upgraded it and down graded it, and have swapped out many parts and its seen many miles as well. Have not had a failure to date yet, that is not to say that it will not happen but someday.
My only beef with my v2 is that its a pain in the ass to get out of my m4, both of them. Id ptw, but Im not a fan, its not cause of the cost or anything, its more than acceptable considering its quality. Just not my scene thats all.
If you already got the gears I say throw them in now and enjoy yourself, worry about things later. Heck for all you know, you may quit airsoft or sell your aeg before anything ever happens.
But if you have to get something reenforced, I think ILLusion had something for sale that may be appropriate to your needs.
