I was gonna suggest tryin .25's as well..how many FPS does the manufacture say it does?..Also when u adjusted rear sight did you notice it movin..the rear sight could be bunk, Add a red dot and try that.If it is the hop up, do you have the knowledge to swap it out?. If so, order one and help your brother exchange it after xmas. He'd probably enjoy learnin how that stuff works.
