A lot of the variations hinge on the battery used, where the buttons are (side if you need to use NVG), and the mount. That's on the real version, I don't know if the clones will use the same variety of batteries and so on.
The selling point for me on the 553 version is the 2 QD levers instead of a thumbwheel to mount.
