So what can I use? Last time I had the mechbox open I used steelwool. It did not have much of and effect. Next time I'll try the 800-1000 grit wet sand paper.
Is turtle wax of any use??? Or what else in the garage?
The thing I had to watch for is making sure the piston guides on the mechbox were not altered in shape or height due to excessive polishing. Pot metal seems rather soft to me.
I think the goal for me is to make the mechbox piston guides have much less friction, rather than make it look nice and shiny.
