It doesn't have to be cold enough to freeze the lube to cause an effect. Just being cold makes it get stiff. I opened a friend's JG G36 and was horrified at the amount of grease in there, so it's stands to be a valid problem.
Now 8.4 1100mah batts are underpowered for 400fps guns as I've stated in my chinasoft awareness thread, Did you try a large battery?
Anywho I'm sure you can modify it to use a crane stock, those G&P batteries are awesome!
