It's steel and aluminum your looking for. You screw un-treated / un-painted aluminum and steel together, let it sit for 3 days, and theres no hope in hell of ever getting them apart, ask me how I know lol
Unfortunately you need to take the barrel nut off in order to TIG weld it back together, no guarantee it won't warp the metal though, refinishing is the easy part...
