One inch should be very managable. Depending on which route you go, you'll need a bit of luck or skill. It's by no mens an impossible job, just make sure you take the time to line everything up properly to ensure that the trigger works properly and has a good response time. If you have any type of mechanical skill and access to decent tools, you should pull it off with no problems.
