Uses the lower handguard retainer (the "ring thing").

You will have to redrill the outer barrel mounting hole, granted that there's enough length for it to slide the entire barrel assembly far enough forward. And it will look horrendous without a front sight block.

I highly recommend you get an original AK-47 front end, and then cut out the space between the gas block and front sight, to keep the gun a bit shorter.

EDIT: Amos you really need to stop posting in every thread that mentions AK rails. It's getting real old. This guy posted the thread for help on installing AK parts, nothing else. Even if it's hideous, doesn't mean one can't pass on some advice.
