I think what he's getting at is it's possible that you had a loose connection on the connectors and that current was arcing from the contact points that were loose. If it was only a short period of time, you may have only reduced the number of charge cycles on the pack.

I would still check the wiring for oxidation, burns and strange smells.

If you know of place in your town that can repack your pack, then break it open and inspect/test the cells individually. It usually costs 50cents to 1 dollar per cell to have it re-wrapped.
