You DONT need full metal teeth piston.
If you are racking a 500+ fps spring, you can use a 7 teeth one, but full is just a wast of weight.
It also makes the psiton weaker and a lot more prone to failure. The metal insert takes the place of the plastic of the piston, so you end up with an incomplete tube. The piston is as resistant to impact as a sheet of plain plastic.
Because the piston can and will flex, the teeth rack will get miss aligned and can cause gear damage.
It will also cause accelerated wear on the gears. I don't know for you, but I prefer changing a 15$ piston once every 3 years than a 85$ set of gears every year.
You will also suffer a very slight loss of FPS, since the piston is not accelerating as fast because of it's weight. Maybe 5 fps, but still there.
IF you REALLY want to change the piston, go for a Systema one. They are known for long life and very little failure.
