Make sure you use a matt paint. Canadian Tire sells Military style Krylon and a clear hardner pretty cheap. If you paint your scope and descide later you don't want it painted but some acid based paint removed and follow the directions to remove the paint. Just don't over do it or you will take off the scopes factory paint as well.
