Having owned 3 different CA M15A4 variants in the past, then my first new gen G&G GR16 R4 RIS I have to say G&G really surprised me.
The G&G metal bodied rifles are made out of magnesium and may not be the strongest but the feel and quality are great. As far as internals, G&G is way ahead of CA now that I can compare. 360fps out of the box:
"Ball Bearing Gear Box Bushings, Ball Bearing Spring Guide Rod, 6.035mm tightbore"
I thought the whole plastic hopup would be a downfall but really, it shot better then any stock CA ive owned. So what im saying is.. sure you can get a stock CA and be happy, which you will probably end up upgrading or swapping parts.. or you can buy a G&G with a decent fps out of the box, internals that will last and tightbore with no need of upgrading. For the price, depending on the variant of the rifle you'll find they're nearly the same. Its your choice though.
CA bodies will always have a place in my heart
CA on the other hand I have had trouble with their internals.. coulda been lemons etc but one was piston trouble and the 2nd was gear trouble. At the same time like explained, some will go many thousands of rounds with little to no wear. Trouble aside, i'd buy another CA again as well.. it just depends what might work best for you out of the box.
