It's a lot more than what you would find on an m4/m16 type body but it's not exactly generous. There's a very old post where someone used expanding foam to fill the gaps but if you do that, you won't be able to get the mechbox out ever again. Taking thin sheets of foam, cutting it down into the right shapes then gluing them to the inside surfaces would work.
