Had a chance to test-fire a new M9 PTP... seems to have the same problem.
I didn't get a chance to experiment, but there is a trick that might work. I used this with a WE Luger that the owner was having similar issues with. Squirt a small amount (one-half to one second) worth of propane into the mag. Very gently, depress the valve with the mag held upright (and away from your face) until the mag starts to vent. The mag should grow cold. The instant it empties, release the valve, invert and fill the mag before it has a chance to warm up.
I've also used this trick with butane torches and lighters that were reluctant to fill. Another trick is to put the mag/torch/lighter in the freezer for five or ten minutes. As long as the receptical for the gas is colder than the source can, it should fill. The greater the temperature differential, the better it works.
