Okay one week left and we're down to the wire!
Here's a shot of the retaining bands. I just snipped them out of 22ga sheet steel and blued them, they came out really well and you'll see in later shots really make this project look kickass. Soo much better than the pipe clamps I was using before;
A side benefit of using plasticard instead of aluminum for the inner layers of the firing mechanism is that it's much easier to work with. Here is shown two layers, with one done and the other ready for cutting. Space is being made for the trigger and the safety;
An early shot of the trigger during test fitting. I'll try and take another shot when I go back in to finish the wiring, as this did get a little more complex;
Ah a beauty shot! Here is the current state of my project. All the wiring has been run throughout, just need to solder the bits together (where is my damned soldering stuff??? Currently packing to move...). Missing as well is the trigger guard, ran out of plasticard so I'll have to grab some more next week;
And a closeup of the trigger mech. Once I've finished the wiring I'll be adding some more rivets to seal it up and hopefully if I have time some maker's marks etc. Still have some filing and "final touches" work to do here;
Final update later in the week, beauty shots "in the bush" from the nam game will follow in the media section.
