The MP5 itself was about $260. The metal upper and front end were $50 each (used) from the ASC classifieds. The CA stock was bought new from airsoftparts.ca for $50. Grip plate, selector switch and hopup were about $10 each new. The new complete CA front end cost $100, but includes the flashlight grip.

Right now, I'm in for just over $500, but I'll be selling the old JG parts and the current CA metal front end that's currently on the gun, so I'll be able to recoup at least $125 (perhaps more) of the cost of this project. So in terms of a custom project gun, it's a pretty good price overall for a quality gun (well, externally at least). The internals will get replaced once these JG internals blow out. I'm really trying to give this the 'stess test' to see how durable stock JG internals are.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I replaced the stock JG motor with a JG high torque motor that came with a JG mechbox I had bought a while back. Holy crap this thing cranks this gun over hard! Trigger response is almost instantaneous compared to to the slower windup I got with the old motor.
