i know from experience. when i was shimming my krakens box i put too many/thick shims on the gears. the box would close fine but when i pulled the trigger to test fire theyd only move about a half rotation and stop
you said yourself as i before quoted you "tons of shims". when you say tons of shims what else is anybody supposed to think. youre not supposed to have "tons of shims" only a few in the right places. the only way i can see there being lots of shims is if youre only using the paper thin ones
but then.... as they said. might be bushings, gear axels, or the gearbox itself. which i kinda doubt if you didnt have this problem til after you started shimming
take the gears out and switch them with a dif guns gears. youll be able to find out if its your gears if it does the same thing in the other guns box or if the other guns gears do the same thing in your krakens gearbox then its the gearbox itself
