Yeah, Glock has the lion's share of the north american market, which is the direct competitor to those who would otherwise be in the market for the XD.

I have a 40cal XD and I quite like it. The only problem for Canadian XD owners is repairs. Glocks you can get repaired very easily and the parts are plentiful and the gunsmith can work with it really easily. Any XD repairs, you have to send down to the states and the extractor pin is apparently the worst offender. I have put about 5000 rounds through mine and its working fine, but I have had friends in my club tell me they had to send theirs off to Springfield at 2000 rounds for broken extractor pins. They had their guns back in about 45 days, which is ridiculous, but they are all working fine now.

XD is a great platform.
