This is a common quirk for this gun it seems. When I have this problem I find that a gentle push on the inner barrel does the trick. You need something just big enough that it won't go into the inner barrel, but small enough to fit into the outer barrel. (I've got a pencil eraser that's perfect, so thats become my official reassembly tool.)
