I'm leary of pointing this out to you...
- there's some well know problems with some of those green coleman propane tanks. Do a search here and google "Colin Sun's blog" he has (or at least had) a good write up on what to do to fix it. It's simple...but it does require fiddling with the top seal of the bottle. Be careful. There are Blue welders bottles that I don't think have the same issues...be sure to get the right gas.

Q. Crunch...why not use non-petroleum grease on the frame/slide rails? I use a very sparing amount of white lithium on my pistols...doesn't seem to mess anything up. I've also lightly greased some of the axles in the hammer assembly. Nowhere else though (i.e. chamber block/blow back unit).

I've used graphite power as well...messy. I've also tried Molybendum Dissulphide (Moly), which is a dry lubricant used in firearms. It's messy as well (i.e. black smudges on stuff). Both work well though.

For regular oil usage...I usually shoot my mags until they're empty. Then when I use them next I put a drop of oil on the main valve button and depress it a couple of times. I hold the main valve down and drop 1-2 drops down into the mag from the top seal (usually getting some on the seal at the same time). I also put a drop into the fill valve just before I fill it.

I'll only do all that once at the beginning of each shooting session...it's probably too much but I haven't had any leaky mags so far and all my pistols run well (with the mild exception of my 226...but that's a project gun in progress). I tend to shoot my pistols often...so I'm not really worried about leaving them "empty" for 3-4 days at a stretch.

I always wondered about putting a couple of drops onto the top of the cylinder before placing on the adaptor. Surely the oil doesn't run into the bottle when the adaptor is in place or is in use? If it's blow out with the liquid propane...wouldn't the first mag receive "all" of the oil and the last ones "none"...thus not lubricating any of the o-rings in the mag?

I run 5 mags for CAPS (IPSC)...and I want all my mags to be a functionally similar and reliable as possible. I suppose that if I weren't really anal about which mags I used 1st/2nd/3rd/etc...they would probably end up randomly 1st eventually.
