when i received it, it wasnt torn. so thats not it.
i had problems with the rubber twice and i took it out and back in twice, i would have noticed the break, but it only happened the third time i took it out (today). its tough to put it back in, and to take it out. so maybe i ripped it while pulling out. (sounds like we are talking about condoms hahahaha)
