Part failures could happen at any time, and not because of user servicing, so why waste 2000 bb's when you could be playing a game with those 2,000 bb's and have a back up weapon in case your's fails.
When I do a full service on my guns, I tend to run a mag or two through it on semi and full auto, and if it's fine (which it almost always is) then I consider the gun working.
