Manually rotate the gears and try again.
It is supposed to do so when the gun has fired a shot in semi. It is the mechanism that disengages the trigger unit and stops the gun from shooting a second BB.
If it still does it when you have moved the sector gear, then you will have to replace the trigger unit. It can become damaged if you forced it closed when the cut-off was engaged.
