In 10 years I've never heard of anyone in airsoft causing or getting into trouble with radios. These are radios we use out in the bush, usually away from populated areas (due to the nature of the sport). I've seen a lot of heavily wooded areas were regular 0.5W FRS radios have a range of about 100-200 meters; going to 4W (typical Chinese UHF handheld radio) isn't really going to step on any toes, even if it's technically illegal. There simply isn't anyone around who'll pick up the signal besides airsofters.
