Now that I think of it, TM MP5 shells are held together by short split pins that are about the same size. If there is a split down the side of that piece, then that is what is it, a guide pin that somehow fell out of the outer body. They are the same size as you mentioned, it's a body part, not a mechbox part. Hmmm, bet I just burst the puzzle wide open.
