There is no slit on the side, it is solid. There are three guide pins in the receiver but they are about 4x the diameter, closer to an inch long, silver, and there is no hole small enough in the rest of the receiver. When I first saw it I thought it came from the receiver but I was pretty confident it didn't before posting.
