personally seeing how little the outer barrel moves, I don't think it helps that much. And for me it is a case of the heavier the better because it pins the front of the pistol down with weight. I suspect most of these parts are designed for the less powerful HFC134a, and anything they can save on gas is good....
the4thpower has a bunch of these new 9Ball light weight part, including a plastic BBU. You can ask him about how he likes them....all I know is the superlight weight slide has already cracked according to him....
