From my experience after 7 years you really need to check the seal of the cylinder assembly.
if you have a compression issue you shoud change the cylinder and piston head for a nice modify unit.
And yes a spring m100 and a spring guide is all you need to make it shoot at 350 fps.
i woud not use anything lower than a m100 or quivalent so when you use hevier bb you will remain in the desired fps range.
