As far as I know most if not all of the SCARs use STANAG mags, so that means you won't have to work as hard to get mags, can swap between team mates if you're in a jam, and if you get another rifle that also uses STANAGs your current mags and pouches will transfer over.

I've got a VFC SCAR and it's been great the last year.
