The reliability thing is that the ver.2 mechbox is weaker than the ver.3. A non-reinforced ver.2 mechbox with a 400fps spring in it will eventually crack, either crack the front end off or crack between bushing holes. A ver.3, unless a fluke, will last a very long time. I have seen stock TM ver.3 mechbox shells running 440fps into the tens of thousands of rounds without any wear, I have seen TM ver.2 mechbox shells break with 360fps upgrades within a season. A reinforced ver.2 mechbox shell will last quite a bit longer, but I have seen SystemA and G&P shells crack and break. The only time I have ever heard of a ver.3 breaking was Tokyo Seven and my guess is that was a fluke.
