Modify gears are very quiet during operation in my experience. I haven't heard anything about torque up gears being louder or quieter...

I'm not familiar with the backlash issue in AEGs. I think it may be that your motor adjustment screw on the baseplate of the grip needs to be looked at.

What type of gearbox is it and what other upgrades are you running?
