Many mechboxes are coming out with factory 7mm and 8mm bearings...7mm bushings are available...haven't seen any readily available 8mm bushings (hopefully soon).
Personally, I don't see the difference between well made 6mm and 7mm bushings.
I suppose the Dboys mechboxes are getting better...the first couple of generations of them were pure junk.
In the end you need to decide what you want to do...
- fastest ROF
- high FPS
- most durability
You can't have all 3 without spending a lot of money on top end parts (which will add up to more than a Systema complete mechbox)...and even then, top end parts fail. They're suppose to last longer/perform better...but airsoft is airsoft.
Torque up gears are not necessary for low FPS setups...and 420-ish is not high power. A good set of stock ratio gears will work fine (perhaps not if you're going for ultra-high ROF stuff at 400fps+ levels).
There's a lot of other factors in building a good mechbox other than plunking in a set of gears, picking a spring and having at it.
Consider a mosfet if you're into the 9.6v+ range...
