Deans connectors FTW. Although for airsoft applications large molex connectors should be good enough (even with voltage drops, it should be able to adequately cool itself but that's just me saying I don't have too much experience with electronics).
Don't return the gun to evike, chances are they're going to screw with you and dick you around. Read some of the online reviews on evike. I'd go to a US airsoft forum and ask around for a local gundoc, they will work wonders on your gun.
Maybe you should splice the wire and resolder? But if you're going to do that might as well install some deans connectors while you're at it. You can probably get deans from your local hobby/electronics store. Hobby stores should have them if they specialize in RC toys.
