The exception to the consistency issues may be if you decide to acquire the gas conversion for a spring rifle in order to modify it to run constant air. Consistent, whisper quiet, and velocity is more easily adjusted for different field limits than swapping a spring. However, you will need to run a hose to a tank. It's personal preference.
