btw mine isn't(I've refinished the part, lol)...the slide catch may look funny because the pic was a bit overexposed pre-processed...
The gas consumption sucks. Nova kit if what I've heard is correct, is actually heavier than the guarder because it is a billet machined kit, vs the cast Guarder, the porrosity of the cast metal takes a bit of the weight out. TM 1911 is a questionable design in terms of gas use mainly because of the tiny reservoir vs the double stack BB storage. The additional problem from that is with smaller gas volume the it is much easier to liquify and further ruins it....Its probably reliably 18-20 shot shooter with lock back, but beyond that it gets iffy.
FYI this gun right now is not much of a shooter. Knowing I will be replacing the slide I didn't bother to fit it the same way as I would have for the slide to BBU fit, and the barrel to slide fit. There is some sticktion still and it will likely jam once in a while. The assembled top is basically a placeholder....
