Fixing Trigger Post
Hey,
I broke my gearboxes trigger post a little while back and wanted to figure out how to fix it before I went an bought a new one. So i found a solution or atleast I hope it'll work ill update u guys when it stops working. 1. Grind off whatever is left of the post 2. Tap a small dent into middle of the old trigger post location 3. Use a 1/16 drill bit and drill a small hole through the gearbox 4. Use a bigger drillbit to creat a small hole on the other side so you are able to set the screw so it doesnt get in the way of the selectorplate 5. Tap the 1/16 hole and screw in a brass screw with red threadlock 6. Cover the edges with solder This is the finished product If anyone has any different approaches or ideas or changes please let me know ![]() Last edited by Nova316; April 26th, 2007 at 20:40.. |

I've done it a few times, I drilled and tapped for a #4-40 set screw, works every time. No need to heat up the "soldiering" iron. Lol
