Regarding batteries, if you're not using your AEG is it better to pull the battery out and store it separately? As of yet I don't have a good charger/decharger, so I can't decharge a battery until I pick up something decent.

Well, if your battery is a NiMH, then you don't need to discharge it anyways. You would only have to discharge NiCd batteries. (Not sure about Lipos though). As for unplugging it, as long as you don't have a PTW, or something with a mosfet/computer chip system, it doesn't make a difference if you leave it plugged in or not.

If you don't have a PTW or a gun with a MOSFET, there's really no reason to remove the battery. As long as the trigger isn't pulled and your wiring is sound, there's no drain on the battery to leave it in. Although for safety, it's not bad practice to remove the battery from your gun when it isn't in use.

With a PTW or a MOSFET, the unit is constantly draining power even when the gun isn't being used, so it will eventually completely drain your battery.

It's just a basic JG M4. Hell, I don't know what type of battery it is besides that its 8.4v 1100mah.

If it's a stock 1100mah then it's probably a NiCad. And yeah, as others have said, while there's no risk to the battery to leave it plugged in, for safety's sake at least unplug it if not remove it from the gun entirely.

Cool, thanks for the help all. Doubt i'll be taking it out unless it needs charging because it's a pain in the ass, but there's no one else around here that can get their hands on it so safety won't be an issue. Plus all the mag's I have (a big whopping total of one) is put away out of sight.

If it's a stock battery, it's a Ni-Cad. Be sure to either discharge it with a discharger or to run it empty before recharging. If you don't, it will develop cell memory and will rapidly no longer hold a charge.

Or get a NPT charger. They take care of the memory effect without the need to discharge.
