Importing pistol grips
Specifically Shooters Design STI grips for the TM 5.1. From what I understand, it seems that there shouldn't be any issue importing these.
This might sound stupid, but I'm getting the impression that they are prohibited since the grips on the cansoft KJW hi capa are tinted... but then again, the grip on the cansoft KJW MEU are solid and the frame tinted. It would be great if someone could explain this because I'm just super confused. Just wanted to double check and make sure. I plan on picking up about 2 grips and the last thing I want is to find myself black-listed or fined. Thanks for your time. |

Grips are not import restricted. Theres a reason they discontinued allowing the KJW HiCapa.

pistol grips are a nay. They are easily mistaken for the restricted 1911 lower frame.

Wait. The replaceable pistol grip panels on 1911/2011?
Those are yay.

Source? Pistol grips are not a problem, unless I'm imagining the gunner grips I imported for my 1911...

Hes talking about something like this ![]() I can see how they might be mistaken as a frame for a 1911.

Incorrect. Hicapa grips are fine to import.

Hicapa grips are fine? Then why have the cansoft version?

Though they are technically fine, they are likely to be mistaken for a 1911 frame by an ignorant CBSA agent.
Although you would eventually get your item, it would probably just be easier to buy it from ILLusion

The reason the blahsoft KJW Capas were smacked is that the lower frame is restricted. For a while, some came in with just the grip tinted, but the actual restricted part was not.

Technically, they're not prohibited.
But that's assuming the customs officer you get is well versed in pistol parts, terminology, etc. I've had these grips seized before. It took me about 6 months to get them back. |
