Aftermath Broxa $100 Good Price?

Hello everyone, long time lurker first time poster!

I just have a quick question. Is the Aftermath Broxa for $100 a good price? I've read a few threads on the gun and it seems like the overall opinion is that if you're just a casual user it's alright.

I'm fairly new to airsoft and I'll probably only end up playing with a few friends now and then and doing some target practice with the gun. I should really point out that I'm really more of collector than user.

So, would paying a $100 for the gun and opening it up and tinkering with it(painting,etc) be worth it? Also if I'm only going to be using the gun off and on should I still upgrade some of the stuff inside? I guess the same question can be asked about the Kraken as I have one of those as well.

Sorry for the extremely newbie question.

They sell for $180-$220 new, so $100 used is a fair price, as long as it is in working condition.

That's a good deal. I paid over $200 for mine a few years back, and it was worth the money. Painting it is a great idea. I took mine apart and painted the inside of the receiver. Since buying it I have put in a new hopup and a tight bore barrel. Have had no problems with it. When you get serious about playing you will want to get a better weapon, but for casual play it should serve you well.

Yes, Cabelas is selling them for $99.

Good to hear from a few people that's is an okay price.

Still haven't decided yet though. I'm also waiting to get age verified which should be happening soon.

They are a good starter weapon. After a while you will want to move up to better systems. Age verification is always a good thing. Lots of good systems for sale right now.

try it out then move on, but they are great little guns and for a little more money lightly upgraded
as multitech put it so well

dont forget to throw some metal bushings in there as well, and if some of the internals are clear plastic you also might wanna change those too but after that mines been running since you could buy em going on 3 years now not a single issue. Did i mention the rate of fire on mine is sick! 26bbps running off a 9.6v 3600mah wired for deans.

If your collecting them and just using them every now and then for fun I wouldn't really upgrade them dude. But I would however paint it. Unless you want to have a collection of custom guns "Internally" anyway. Which is pretty cool too. If I had the money I would probably do the whole custom thing. but if not, just keep them stock.

It's also great as a loaner weapon as well.

I think it was said that once you get it you should probably take it apart; shim it and take out the crappy lube from the gearbox and relube with white lithium grease. After that just play with it until parts start failing (could be 100 rounds could be 100,000 rounds). It's a decent starter gun IMO and when you move up to something better you still have it as a loaner and/or backup weapon so you can introduce new players to the sport and give them something fairly decent to play with for their first time. All in all at $100 it's an awesome price considering the Kraken and Broxa usually retail for $150 and $180 respectively.

For $100, it's not a bad deal. I own one, and it actually out-shoots my M4. My suggestion would be to get a new mag for it though, as the factory ones suck.

Agreed the factory, high cap, is crap. But it works well with the cheap MAG brand mids I got off ehobby. http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/mag-90rd-...ries-8pcs.html
