Scared of Li-po fire?
Hey guys was reading through my RC mags and I found something you might be interested in. sorry if this has been posted already.
Its called a Li-protector. Basicly its a fire proof reusable bag that in the event of a lipo discharging or short circuiting it will protect you, your gun, or your pouch... basicly it contains it. "Li-Protector" is the best onboard protection for Lipo batteries. The protector is made from Nomex and Kevlar threads, materials which protect also our fire fighters against burns. Lightweight, but very effective. Will fit also in tight places inside the fuselage. Only 12 g light and thin, less than 1/2 oz, but will fit up to 5 S 4500mah Lipo batteries." click on battery safety. neways thought you guys might like that. |

Li-po users are aware of the li po bag infact i beleve everyone who has a lipo bought a bag like that. Even camra's are using li-pos and it comes in a tiny li-po bag. i do got to admit for a low voltage camra battery it owns.

Thanks for posting this, I've never heard of em before and would definitely want one for while shooting/charging as the ammo box i have only contains possible fires while my batteries are stored.

I wonder if it protects from water too. It would be nice for Li-Po users not to have to worry about the battery going off in the rain.

I've played with lipo's in the rain with absolutely no problems. Like any battery, it is bad to have a short, but your wiring should be protected everywhere save the trigger contacts. I've yet to have a short from rain and yet to have a battery fail.

That's good to know. I think I got confused from the other thread about submerging guns, lol. Thanks.

I love the fear of li-po! My wife read somewhere about the dangers of li-po and now repeats this "info" every time I charge my r/c or airsoft li-po's. I just smile and enjoy the fact that her cell phone uses a li-po battery and she doesn't even know it.

Meh... If I need a LiPo bag I'll just make one out of an old pair of Nomex Gloves... no worries!

Thanks for the link, I was looking for one of these. I've been charging my batteries in a stainless steel coffee mug so far but have nothing to protect it in the gun.

A: crack the protective aluminum coating, or B: accidentally pinch both wires causing the coating to strip and therefore allowing the battery to short. |

If I rig a couple Li-Po cells togeter with the intent of making a bomb, will it work?
Seriously, I find it funny. This new technologie, feared and loved at the same time.

lol well I know they are safe if handled properly. I mean, I am flying around a battery in a chunk of EPP foam.... thats just asking for a problem right there if these were as explosive as some people tend to think.
I was how ever looking at going li-mag for that reason. But they are damn pricey. If your interested there right here, not supposed to be near as dangerouse as Li-po. Li-mag |
