A good rule of thumb is to trickle-charge a battery slowly at no more than 1/10th of it's rated capacity. This will help to ensure long battery life, especially in NiCad cells.

eg: a 2000 milliamp battery should be charged at 200 milliamps, or thereabouts. Yeah, it;ll take 10 hours to reach capacity, but you won't have a meltdown.

"small", "stick", and "butterfly/nunchuck" packs made with 2/3A-sized cells are much more intolerant to overcharging than "large" size (Sub-C - Celled) packs, in my experience.

What you really need is a charger with adjustable charge rates. I use an Intellipeak Digital Pulse Charger, which allows me to adjust charging rates between 200 milliamps and 6500 milliamps. It hasn't failed me in almost 8 years of playing:

Assuming your charger is truly auto, as it says, and works properly, the first battery which is 1300 mAh would be perfect for the lowest setting on your charger. It will save you buying a new one, but again, that is assuming your charger is functioning fine.

The second battery will either suffer the fate of your first one (if you use anything above the 1300 mAh setting), or if you use the 1300 mAh setting, it will never fully charge.

It would be pointless to pick the second battery over the first.

ok, when i get home from france, in about uhm 14 days, ill buy the first one,+ a midcap mag from g&p...this will cost around 40 usd...anyone know how much it will be in total whit shipping? i mean a battery and a mag isnt big lol

The charging time for with of these batteries would be 1 hour on the lowest setting on your charger (1.3).....not the best option (fast-charging) and will likely be worse for your battery over the long haul, but for the price of 1 high-end charger, you can afford 3-4 batteries.

The question is, do you want to spend more now and get a good charger, or do you want to spend more later and get more batteries (and possibly a new charger anyways)?

Look on ebay......mine was $60 US, brand new, in box, still plastic-wrapped, with 1 year warranty.

Get rid of that Winstar hunk of crap. I had one of those very briefly. It was crap.

I have a TLP-15 Fuzzy Logic Trickle charger. Does everything automaticlly or at the touch of one button. It goes from 500 to 5000 mah so I'm covered for everthing though I'd never buy anything lower than an Intellect 1400mah battery as there is no reason to.

If you want a cheap battery and charger, just go to any Radio Shack, or those electronics stores, and pick up a RC battery pack, 9.6V is the common one I see, and most come with a smart charger. Cost you anywhere from 20-40. They work in AEG's just fine, but the extra voltage on a stock gun will wear down your gun faster, but give you a higher rate of fire. Might need to mod the pack itself to fit your style of gun tho.
