Info on this gun.

Sorry if there has been a thread on this already, but I was unable to find 1.

So the gun in question is this:
http://www.shootsoft.ca/v2/product.php?id_product=489

It says that the original manufacturer is TechFast, which I never heard of before. What I wanted to know was if the hopup chamber in this gun will be compatiable with a JG G36. And how does the magwell feed into the hopup chamber in this gun? Is it like a SRC G36 where the hopup chamber has its own feed tube?

The best advice you'll ever get is to avoid those ShootSOFT clowns like the plague. A lot of people here have had bad experiences with them, all of which you'll find by doing a search on here. In order to find a decent version in Canada, you'll have to get age verified, a thread for it will be found by doing a search here as well.

As for the gun, it looks to be a "canadianized" JG G36C. I tried to find info on it on Techfast's website, but they didn't have it listed on their products list.

I was able to find it on another webiste:
http://www.albertaairsoft.com/store/...d_product=1338

But it does not yield more info.
Can anyone compare this with a JG G36 and a SRC Gen III G36? I am paticularly interested in the interchangability of the hopup chambers and the connection of the magwell to the hopup chamber.

They are compatible. Techfast seems to be a rebranded JG. They obviously have lesser quality/cheaper internals than the SRC GenIII because of the price point, but they are not bad guns at all. I have never had to repair one, and we have gone through several cases in the past few months.

Sorry for the double post, I just got another question. How would you say the quality of the plastic body is compared to a SRC Gen III?

The SRCs are tinted darker, so they look a bit better.

I've got a Gen III AK47, and the body hasn't broken yet, so I guess the plastic isn't too bad, though chances are good something will crack if you drop it, so whatever you go for, either swap in a metal body ASAP, or don't drop it

I don't think there are metal bodies for the G36 as not even the real guns are made of metal. As for the tint, that does not really matter for me as im going to paint it anyways. I have a SRC Gen III G36 right now and me and a few friends were gonna pool money and buy this G36 as a loaner gun, since Im paying the most, i wanted to swap my SRC body for this one, since my SRC body has a few small cracks in the back where the screws go. So im wondering if the body is worth switching.

I don't see why not but fitment *might* be a problem. No problem if you do the swap slowly and are skilled with a dremel or craft knife/hobby knife to shave off excess plastic in areas needed or whatever.

you will have to mod the body, i have switched a black JG G36 body onto a SRC and a KWA and it takes a bit of careful trimming and sanding to line up correctly, take your time its worth it.

On a side note i dont know how rugged these clear bodies are but the black Jg shells i got were ten times better than the smoked shells for either the SRC or KWA

The VA guy said that clear recievers get weaker with the picment that makes them smoked. Maybe is that.

Yea, I'm not impressed with the strength of the KWA body either.

I've beat the crap out of my Classic Army G36 body and it's still holding up just fine.
