Precision vs Barrel Lengh.

So Ive been tickering around and wondering If I should go for a longer barrel. Ca M15CBQ vs CBQ Compact, Does the longer barrel really make a difference in Precision. Im not really the sniper profile and tough that if you wanted precision you really need to get a longer barrel than M4/M16 format.

I also though that FPS would probably have more to do with the longer range acuracy of an AEG than the barrel lengh. Or maybe a combination oof both.

What have you guys experienced?

P.s. using .20 BB

My experiance is if you remove the barrel and look through it, what you see is what you have the potential of hitting. Tightbores narrow that field, thus produce tighter groupings. Barrel length also makes the field narrower.

Good to compare your airsoft barrel to paintball. its just hilarious.

http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=2697 read this sticky, Skruface gives great advise on increasing range, accuracy, and fps

Start of by using a quality 0.25g bb instead. Your effective range til increase noticeably.

Depending the game Most time you are required to use .20.

So diamond says that the longer barrel will give you a tighter grouping.

Most games you aren't required to use any specific weight, just to chrony with 0.2's

It's .20 to check your gun speed, so that everyone is on the same page/level. (Almost) anything else after that is fine.

keep in mind, if you change your barrel length, you change the volume of air required to move a BB through it. Make sure you get a cylinder ported to the correct size.

but in general, a longer barrel will allow for better accuracy.

My G3SG1 just going from stock to tightbore barrel gave me an extra 10 meters of range, and alot better grouping.
However my HFC beretta has a tiny little barrel and it can hit a golf ball at 30 meters. Grouping is very dependant on what internals parts are in your gun and how well they are installed. Hopup rubber makes a BIG difference on grouping.
