FPS Higher Than expected?

Okay I just dropped a Lonex M100 Spring into A Echo 1 Platinum M16 Aeg, And was expecting to be getting around 360/365 FPS but I'm Getting 388 FPS.

Only Thing that was changed was the VFC Piston to A ICS POM With the VFC piston head on the Pom Piston, And the VFC Tappet was broken upon arrival and a modify tappet was installed.

I'm trying to get this Gun as Close to 360 FPS as possible. I Was Rather surprised by the FPS being as high as it is on this spring.Any Help would be great.

Cheers

that sounds about right for a lonex 100. If you want 360ish, a modify 100 is what you need or a lonex 90 but not sure if anyone carries those.

Modify spings are problematic in VFC boxes. The wire they use in some batches is too thin and can slip off the base of the spring guide, causing it to jam inside the piston.

When you have a good air seal, 400 is what you should expect from a M100. Try a M90.

I used to crimp the end on the guide just abit so it doesn't slip off

Are lonex springs usually that over powered?

Lonex, SHS, MadBull... They're all about the same.
Modify is usually 10 FPS lower than the above mentioned.

"M100" doesnt necessarily mean 100m/s in any gun.
Some mfgs set their fps rating for stock shit compression.
Like ehobby rates all the springs on the site like 50-100fps under what they shoot in ideal conditions

Most springs are rated for the shit compression in a TM M4.

best way to deal with springs is to stay within 1 or 2 manufacturers so you know what to expect.. it's like tire wear ratings on tires.... a 400 wear rating from one manufacturer is not 400 from another manufacturer... it's only good within products of the same manufacturer if you are using it as a landmark/reference point.

You have a bearing spring guide?

If so you can remove the set of washers and bearings off the piston head end. It'll lower your FPS.
