Where can I pickup a Dean (F) to Mini-Tamiya (M) Connector??

Hey everyone,

Just got the IMAX B6AC, and realized that it didnt come with a Mini-Tamiya connector!!! Argh...what gives?

Anyways, I'm hoping someone could point me to a retail location (preferably around Scarborough/Markham area) where I can pick one up. Not looking for an online retailer, as I want to get this tomorrow and dont see the point of paying ~$10 shipping for something that cost <$5.

If anyone has a spare that they like to sell me this weekend, I would really appreciate it as well

Thanks in advance!

advance hobbies should have that. They are located at Hwy and woodbine north east corner. Google them.

The reason you didnt get Tam is because they are old and people no longer use them.

I'd highly recommend and upgrade to Deans

I'm new to airsoft, but if this is possible, I'd love to do it... could you elaborate on how to modify? Or point me to a guide? Thanks.

Find this piece large female tamiya to small male tamiya (comes with ur Imax b6)

You can fit the large female tamiya to the male dean..just gotta use some force to put it in....

the small male tamiya goes into the battery small female tamiya connector.

Make sure red goes with red and black goes with black.

thanks JonsM4. Seems like my IMAX B6AC did not come with that Tamiya connector you had in the picture

Should use the alligator clips to make the connection?

If you've got a wall charger, cut off the Tamiya connector with a decent amount of wire connected to it. the wire going into the Tamiya connector is actually two wires fused together, split them apart at the end of what you cut off that doesn't have the connector so about 1 cm of the two wires are seperated from each other. One wire will either be red, or have white markings on it; that end should be the positive wire. Attach the alligator clips to the wires and you now have a Tamiya connector for your charger. If you did this incorrectly, the Imax B6 will tell you that the polarity is mixed and all you have to do is switch the order of which alligator is connected to which wire. I'll post up a picture later on if I have time since these instructions are extremely confusing.

There is a hobby store on sheppard between midland and Kennedy. Walk in there and have them make a small plug for you. It'll cost you a few bucks. I had them make me one cost like 3 bucks or something.

I recommend just rewiring. Adding connectors adds resistance, which is bad. You'll thank yourself later. But most decent hobby shops should have the adapters. If not you can always make one.
