Hrrm.. I'm not too sure I'd trust a $17 (with free shipping) mask to protect my teeth...

If I remember correctly, I was talking to someone who had tested one of these things and they didn't hold up very well... but I'd be interested in some non-bias testing

As much as they are $17, I don't see a bb blasting through intact. A bb that fragments would loose enough energy to prevent teeth damage.
The silica ones might be a differnt issue?
I'd still appreciate some hands on reviews. $17 for a mask that only takes one hit to break is not worth it.

Just be careful when you order from Ebairsoft. If they do ran out stock, he wont tell you but will give you a fake tracking number and take your money, while he pretends he shipped the product already. He just took some of my money and gave me a fake tracking number and I had my order since June 28. I'm not saying all his stuff will be out of stock, because I ordered some stuff from him before and I received it with a working tracking number. It's just really dumb this time, because he wont even return any of my emails. The owner's name is Paul Wong, you guys can go search it up on google, I'm not the first victim.

Are you serious? BB's flying through the air at 350+ fps and hit a somewhat protection.
I rather spend the correct amount of money then spend the money on fixing my teeth(chip, broken or w/e).
A member of the Manitoba team got shot in the tooth and i hear it was about $4000.
The balance of justice is leaning...$17 or $4000.

That's the thing. No metal mask will fail that catastrophically.

The $4000 damage was a straight BB to the tooth right?
Any bb that'll shatter/penetrate a metal mesh (even pot metal) will loose so much energy, it won't damage a tooth.
Now, same can't be said about mesh eye protection, where even a small fragment can cause permanent damage.

That's why I would try this $17 mask, but would never touch ANY form of mesh eye pro.

Wear a mouth guard as well if you're worried about teeth, I think this is more to prevent painful and embarrassing (the next day at work) face shots.

Just got my 2 in the mail today. They are not as cheeply made as i thought and the mesh is pretty thick. The mask itself is malleable and can be shaped to any face, despite this it still feels weird wearing it. It sits very well underneath the goggle portion of my jt proflex. Extending well past my chin it may be hard to look down especially when wearing a shemagh, although I do have a small head.

Will edit later with a shooting test.

I have all three now, the Brass Guard, the EB mask, and the Bitter End lower face mask.

The Bitter End is definitely the strongest, but is therefore the hardest to form well. I can't get mine to fit the contour around my nose, and so it pushes on my nose. I would like to note that other owners say they have been able to adjust theirs to fit comfortably, so it could just be me. It also doesn't fit under my Desert Locust goggles properly and there is an exposed area under the goggles, but that might be due to the different shape of different goggles. The paint on the inside is also coming off. I had black paint around my mouth and chin after I used it last. I had a sort of Fu Manchu look going.

Not a ding or dent when shot with 400fps .20 at about 10 ft. I'm testing it close because I do a lot of CQB.

The Brassguard is definitely the strongest of the mesh ones. It is a comfortable fit, but has to be adjusted to fit goggles. I haven't skirmished with it yet, so I don't know it's comfort over a long period. It's powder coated, but isn't as close to my mouth as the Bitter End, so I don't see the paint chipping on the inside because of that. By the way, I have the "assassin" full face mask (with eye cutouts so you wear goggles over it) coming from Russia.

Also held up to the firing test above.

The EB mask is the third strongest of them all. It is more malleable than the Brass Guard, and it's painted like the Bitter End. It is also a more comfortable fit than the Bitter End. It did deform with the close shot test, but did not penetrate. I have also not skirmished this one yet.

I just received 3 of those EBairsoft masks.

I tested one with a 385 fps AEG using 0.25g BBs at a distance of 12 inches.

All it did was create a little rounded dent in the mesh that was easily fixed by pushing on it with a solid object. Paint also came off. After 5 BBs nothing go thru (or even close).

I now totally trust this thing not to let any BBs pass thru it. Even if the worst happens and a BB passes thru, it will be slowed down so much that it won't pose a threath anymore.

They are quite impressive for 17$ (go them on sale at 13.50$), although a bit tight on top of the nose.

I fixed the tightness on top of the nose on mine. It was actually the elastic band that was causing the pressure on the nose. So I bent the mask to move the pressure on the cheeks. Here's a few pictures... as you know, I have a nose of pretty epic proportions, so you might not have to bend your's as much. It's a bit hard to see on the pics, but check the first one, it shows how I bent the mask to elongate the nose area and move the pressure away from the nose.

I got mine the other day. Tested it by firing at it in one spot three times in a row for about 3/4" with my Glock. Not even a dent. I wore it for a while and after it left the bridge of my nose hurting but I hadn't adjusted it and having it sit on the bridge of my glasses I didn't notice the pain til after taking it off. Gotta adjust it and find some goggles to match it now.

Review of the ebairsoft mask:

I received mine a couple of days ago and was finaly able to do some testing.

The mask is fairly solid. The mesh is not as heavy as the striker mask. The edging is attached very firmly (appears to be hot glued on)

The elastic is of good quality and should not readily fail. There is a section of Velcro at the back that allows for some adjustment of the tension.

The elastic is held on by two plastic d rings, which are attached to the mask with two loops (of what feels like the loop side of Velcro). These loops are grommet onto the mask.

I decided to do my testing with my MP5 Broxa and .25 BBs. The Broxa is shooting around 355 FPS. All the shots were against the right cheek area.

I took 10 shots from 24 inches away at the centre of the right cheek area.
There was no evidents of the shots at all after.

Next I took a shot from 6 inches away. There was a small deformation of the mesh but barely visible (sorry about the blurriness) the black circle is around the area and the red dot highlights the deformation.

Next I took 10 shots in a row (semi), from 6 inches away. There was significant deformation of the mesh and one of the strands actually broke. There was no penetration of the mask though. There was also flaking of the paint on some of the surrounding strands. The black circle is around the area and the red dot highlights the break.

I was able to push the deformation back into position with the back of a spoon (couldn't do it with my fingers) and the break closed and the mesh was flat again.

Overall I'd say that this mask will stand up to day to day play without any problems. The 10 shots in a row from 6 inches is pretty extreme and unlikely to happen in a real game. I am very confident that this mask will keep me safe on the field without any issues.

I like the way the mask is easy to mold to my face and the straps hold it on without any slippage. I like the angle that the straps go up on as it keeps them from going straight across my ears. I did have a little difficulty with my shooting glasses until I put them on before the mask. Then everything was fine.

For $17 this mask will serve you well.
