Lowering FPS on a co2 Revolver.

Hey everyone,

Is there anyone in the GTA that I can spend a day or so with that can help me lower the fps of my revolver? I spoke with a few other people from out of province and it seems rather simple process of grinding/filing down the firing pin, or weakening the spring, or fiddling with the hammer ect ect and so on.

So is there anyone in toronto or close by that I can sit with and file away and chrono the gun? Its a sweet piece and I don't want to have to sell it off.

I of course will pay, the method of payment of course is up to you, but don't expect me to make you sandwiches. :3

I hear using the c02 revolvers in double action lowers the fps because the hammer doesn't go back as far as it does with single action.

If you're removing material on the firing pin or weakening the spring, it may not have enough power to open the valve to actually shoot the gun (CO2 is high pressure).

I may be wrong, but I don't think there's really a way to lower the FPS on those guns.

je crois que ce vidéo pourrait être utile. C'est un truc pour les Dan Wesson mais c'est certainement applicable Ã* tous les revolvers au CO2.

That's not a viable or long term solution.

Technically, tapping one section of the feed tube and using a set screw with gasket maker to block the passage of the gas would lower the FPS consistently and allow for a precise adjustment.

I've also bought myself a WG 702 8", and when I recieve it, I want to downgrade that sucker to a steady 340-360 fps. I've heard a lot of things, that even go to drilling holes in the shells to release the co2. Some also suggest putting a washer between the thingy the hammer slams onto and the hole the gas goes through.

Someone also mentioned screwing with the spring and cutting it some. But that's kind of too permanent, if it screws up, it's done, son. Or just replace the spring, but hell if there is even a replacement spring for the hammer.

I also saw someone drill in some small screws into the hammer, making a "variable" fps setting. Anything goes at this point.

Somebody at the terminator game showed me his WG, and that he bent the small cylinder right in front of the gas entrance to the barrel, or something like that. I wish I could find him and have him explain exactly how he did it.

Edit : Seems there could be a way to remove the cartridge forever and replace it with a permanent green gas reservoir.
Dont know if that'd be possible on this gun, maybe by taking apart (again)

Also weakening the spring could be something, but again, that's permanent. Someone said something about pulling back the hammer and letting it sit for a week, in another thread. Could work, but maybe it could also be temporary.
We SO need feedback from every revolver owner.

There's a really simple way to make the FPS adjustable in this thread:

Check the third picture.

Would it be possible to go to the factory and have them put green gas in co2 powerlets?

That would put these guns in just the right area for airsoft.

That's it?!?

I thought it would be much more complex than that. I will have to open one up and see what I can do with one.

I guess the propane in a CO2 cylinder is needlessly complicated.

I didn't chrono any of these yet, but I loaded one up with .3 gram aluminum bbs and it went through the top of a pop can. Very powerful.

Yes... except that if you want to lower power you will probably still have to cut the hammer spring. From what I understand, he wanted to increase power, and stuffing the hammer spring chamber with washers will do that. I was planning on ordering a 8" Dan Wesson branded revolver soon, and since I wanted to game it, I did my research on the best way to adjust FPS, and this seems to be it. Some people have reported FPS as low as 210 with this mod, but I don't know if they are using the original hammer spring.

Does the spring go down into the 10mm tube or does that little plate just let the spring guide into the tube but the spring is blocked?

If so, it seems like that would make it more powerful than ever! Help me, I am missing something!!

This seems overly complicated when all you need really is a screw and a nut to push on the existing metal chamber-like thingy...
